ARITHMETIC: Concluding project conference

The ERC project “ARITHMETIC. German Arithmetical Treatises in Manuscripts of the Late Middle Ages (1400‒1570)” will host its final conference in Innsbruck from November 3 to 5, 2026.
Our focus, both in terms of content and methodology, is on arithmetic manuscripts from the Late Middle Ages, examined from historical, cultural, literary, and editorial perspectives, with a strong emphasis on the digital humanities. Presentations will address arithmetic books as well as other texts based on the quadrivium, along with mathematical topics and specialized literature (and its didactics). A detailed conference program will follow.
